Happy Birthday Nana

Today would have been my Mother-in-law’s birthday, and though she’s no longer with us, her presence is still felt in so many quiet, comforting ways.  It's still so hard to believe that she's no longer with us.

She was a quiet presence, never one to demand attention, but her kindness filled every room she entered. The kind of person who would do anything for someone else, without ever expecting anything in return. Whether it was dropping everything to help out, checking in with a gentle word, or simply offering a space to sit and a listening ear, she gave her love in the small, quiet ways that often mean the most.

Nana was happiest in her garden, surrounded by stunning flowers, sunshine, and the company of her beloved pets. There was always a cat or two nearby, and a bird feeder that never went empty. She had a deep appreciation for simple, beautiful things - nature, animals, peace - and she found joy in tending to them with care. Animals always seemed to know they were safe with her. So did people.

More than anything, her greatest joy was her grandchildren. Her eyes would light up when they were around. She cheered their triumphs, comforted them in their struggles, and made each one feel deeply loved in a way only a Nana can. She printed every photo of her grandkids, many photos of photos of screens, all were printed and placed into albums.

We miss her every day. The world feels quieter without her. But even in her absence, her spirit is still so present - in the way the garden grows, in the warmth of a cuddle from a cat, in the laughter of the grandkids she adored. Her love continues to shape our lives, gently, steadily - just like she always did.

We love you, Nana. Thank you for everything.
